Our verdict: A good format to consider for daily handwriting when you want a planner with its hard cover already attached.
Before you choose: Dated editions and language versions differ; check the year and layout before buying remaining or second-hand stock.

The HON removes the need to choose a separate book cover while retaining the daily-page approach of the Original and Cousin formats. A6 favours carrying convenience, while A5 gives more writing space. Hobonichi explains that the English calendars do not list public holidays, a detail that matters if you expect those to be preprinted for your country.

Who it suits
It suits journaling and detailed daily records more naturally than a compact week-at-a-glance schedule. Look closely at photographs of the actual edition: a listing for an older year is not an undated notebook. Check language, start month, page format and cover design together. We have not compared pen drying or ink bleed in person.
